Vietnam : Trade Ministry impose additional quotas to US-bound apparel goods

Currently, there are about 200 companies having applied for additional quotas for shipping apparel goods to the US under Announcement No. 0663 dated 06/06 by the Ministry of Trade (MoT).

Apparel quota management department of the Ministries of Trade and Industry have been finalizing the draft rule relating additional quota distribution with consultation from Vietnam Garment and Textile Association so that companies will soon receive quotas.

The association says this is the only quota supplement distribution in 2005 with quotas accounting for 5-10% total quotas for each Cat allowed from the US.

About 700 enterprises will be able to receive more quotas if the Ministries of Trade and Industry nods delivery time expansion to September and October.
