Pakistan:Preferential Trade Agreement with Morocco proposed |

To boost bilateral trade, particularly in the post MFA era, the federal commerce minister Humayun Akhtar Khan on Wednesday proposed a preferential trade agreement between Morocco and Pakistan to boost bilateral trade.
He was conferring with the visiting commerce minister of Morocco, Mechahoure, and his delegation on the sidelines of the Expo Pakistan 2005. He proposed constitution of an officials group from the two countries as a first step to identify products of exports and import between the two countries and duty structure.
As Morocco has Free Trade Agreement with USA, Turkey, EU and Arab countries, the Moroccan Trade Minister said his country offers immediate opportunity to Pakistani textile sector for the export of textile items worth $1.2 billion to USA and other countries to acquire market access in these countries and to promote bilateral trade.
The trade minister of Morocco sought joint ventures in agro based industry, information technology, pharmaceutical, tourism and fertilizers with Pakistani private sector. |
