China keen to invest in textile, leather sectors

China has shown interest to invest in the engineering, textile and leather industry of Pakistan. This was announced by the E-commerce Gateway Pakistan in a statement Friday. It said a 15-member Chinese delegation led by Wei Zhang, president of Beijing Horizon Cultural Communication Company is visiting Pakistan to explore the business opportunities available in the corporate sector. The delegation visited the secretariat of International Trade and Industry Fair (ITIF) Asia 2004 to witness the preparations of the event scheduled to be held at Karachi Expo Centre in January next year.

The ITIF Asia 2004, which incorporates major exhibitions and conferences on textile, leather and engineering is being organised by the ministry of investment and privatisation in collaboration with board of investment and E-commerce Gateway Singapore. China would be setting up its pavilion at the ITIF Asia 2004.
