HMI 2005 Review

Hospitality Match International (HMI) is a valuable contract hospitality event experience. Connect with the heads of purchasing and design of major hotel chains, cruise ships and timeshares in the U.S. face-to-face, one-on-one. HMI matches qualified FF&E suppliers to high-end buyers. These buyers are the three- to five-star buyers, often with unlimited budgets, specifying the most elaborate high-end suites available.

At HMI, there’s no expensive booth construction to deal with or sacrificing the whole day without writing orders. Instead, you will benefit from a whole weekend with these decision makers. The relationships you will walk away with at HMI would take some people a lifetime to achieve.

Get a Piece of the Action! HMI is a complete package for doing business in the U.S. Contract Hospitality Market – the largest and most lucrative in the world.

HMI is about building relationships with your customers in a fun and exciting atmosphere.
At HMI, you will find out exactly what your customer wants and how you can earn their business.

Are You Getting Your Fair Share of the U.S. Contract Hospitality Market?

Here's How HMI Works:

Guaranteed Meetings: Face-to-Face; One-on-One
Prior to HMI, the invited buyers will receive a printed directory with all the participating suppliers and a corresponding product or service description. Each buyer will be asked to choose the suppliers they wish to meet with and vice versa. Then HMI will generate a personalized meeting schedule for each participant and fill in any availability.

Exceptional Networking: Building Relationships
After a productive day of focused meetings, you will have numerous opportunities to network and build long lasting, mutually beneficial relationships. HMI will organize meals, activities, receptions and entertainment to network on a more informal basis.

Product Showcase Preview: 2007 Collections
Since HMI takes place towards the end of the year, you can introduce your 2007 lines, to key accounts before your competition does. Here’s your chance to display your product or service offering in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. This table top show takes place the very first day giving an overview and a glimpse of what buyers can expect in terms of quality, cost and service.

Informative Seminars: Education Increases Sales
HMI has relationships with leading edge buyers who will tell you exactly how you can earn their business. Get the inside track and increase your sales by learning what your customer wants. Seminar panelists will be accessible for the duration of the event for one-to-one interactions.

FAQs

If you have a question not listed here, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Q - How is HMI different from a standard trade show?
A – HMI is based on focused one-to-one meetings with the most important buyers in the industry. There are no booths to construct and the buyers are all qualified. You will build mutually beneficial relationships and get close with the participating buyers over a 3 day period in a fun and exciting atmosphere. You can show your goods in your suite and if necessary and agents are available to represent your lines and follow-up with buyers.

Q - What can I expect to get out of HMI?
A - Quite simply, the best relationships with the high end buyers in the industry. You will increase your knowledge about doing business in the U.S. Contract Hospitality market. If necessary, agents are available to represent your lines and follow-up with buyers. HMI is a complete package for doing business in the U.S. market – the largest and most lucrative in the world. You can also expect to work hard while having fun. This is Las Vegas!

Q - How many buyers and suppliers will be present at the show?
A - We are limiting this opportunity to 50 buyers and 50 suppliers. Furthermore, these 50 suppliers will be broken down into various categories to limit competition. To increase your chances of being accepted we suggest your register as soon as possible.

Q - What type of buyers will be at the show and where are they coming from?
A - HMI is inviting the top 100 buyers in the industry. These buyers are the heads of purchasing and design from the leading hotel chains. The buyers will come from all over the US, not just the west coast. For a list of these buyers, please visit: the
Who's Buying page.

Q - How many one-to-one meetings can I expect to have with the buyers?
A – Depending on the number of representatives you send from your company, you can expect to have a minimum of 10-15 meetings. If you bring 2 representatives you can almost double that number.

Q - What should I bring with me to HMI?
A - Sample books, promotional materials, business cards and minimal product (just enough to get the message across).

Q - Can I show in my suite?
A – Yes, if you have a buyer that is interested in seeing more of your line you are encouraged to invite them to your suite during free time or breaks. The suites are 630 sq. ft. with plenty of space for your goods.

Q - What is the dress code?
A – Dress is business casual.

Q - Can I bring a guest to HMI, such as my wife, a child or a friend?
A – Absolutely. Your suite sleeps 4 people but you will be liable for any additional costs and they are not permitted to participate in the regular program unless otherwise given permission.

Q - How do I register for HMI?
A – To register all you need is to fill out the registration form (link to Register Now page) and fax it to our office. Upon receipt of this form we will invoice you and a 50% deposit will be required. The remaining balance is due a month before the show.

Q - Is there a deadline for registering?
A – September 12, 2006 – However, since we are limiting the number of suppliers in each product category, it is in your best interest to register as soon as possible.
