Zhejiang Misai Silk Co., Ltd. is established by reforming the previous Zhejiang Misai Silk (Group) Corp., which had been the successor of Zhejiang No. 1 Silk-making Mill and the Dingxin Silk Mill that was first built in 1921.
Misai and its predecessor (Zhejiang No. 1 Silk-making Mill) have been a leader in the silk industry. Due to their important contribution to national economy, they had been awarded numerous prizes by national, ministry, provincial and municipal governments. In terms of technology, Misai had won Bronze Medal for National Technological Achievements, Forth Prize of National Silk Industry Technological Improvements, Silver and Bronze Medal for Zhejiang Provincial Technological Improvements, and Model Enterprise of Technological Improvements of Zhejiang Province; in terms of business management, Misai is the Model Unit of Economic Profits in National Manufacturing and Transportation Industries, Level 2 Enterprise of National National Metrological Work, National Level 1 Model Enterprise of Energy Saving, Ministry Quality Management Prize, and Model Unit of Zhejiang Province. In 1991, Misai had passed the accreditation for National 1-level Enterprise, becoming the only enterprise in silk reeling industry that passed such accreditation.
Misai Silk covers a total area of 106,000 square meters, including 63,000 square meters of building area in northern Chang’an Town of Haining City. More than 1000 people are under employment, of whom there are 96 professional technicians. Equipment includes 20 sets of 8000 ends reeling machines, 22 sets of imported circular knitting machines, 145 sets of imported sewing machines, and 15 sets of dyeing and finishing machines, which form advanced whole-line production capacity from reeling, weaving, dyeing and garment making.
In 1983, Misai’s white steam filature Z/17 won National Silver Medal for Quality, and keeps this medal till now after the re-accreditation in 1986. In 1993, white steam filature Z/17 was named as Renown Product of Zhejiang Province; in 1996 “Misai” brand silk knitwear was again awarded Renown Product of Zhejiang Province. Since 2000, Misai’s white steam filature and silk knitwear have been awarded Renown Product of Zhejiang Province for many times.
In 1995, “Misai” brand was awarded Famous Trademark of Jiaxing City during the city’s first accreditation; and since 1998 “Misai” brand have been re-awarded Famous Trademark of Zhejiang Province for many times.
